Elektronik ersetzt Notizblock: Immer mehr Gastronomiebetriebe setzen auf die Bestellungsabwicklung per Handheld. Oco Design entwickelte für Vectron ein robustes, wasserdichtes Profigerät, das ergonomisch für den Zehnstundenbetrieb ausgelegt ist. Das „POS MobileXL” wiegt inklusive Akku rund 660 Gramm und verfügt über einen transreflektiven Touchscreen, der dank Hinterleuchtung auch im direkten Sonnenlicht ablesbar ist. Die Akkus sind so platziert, dass sie das einhändige Halten unterstützen. Hier zeigt das Magnesiumgehäuse eine Stärke von 43,5 Millimetern, während es sonst nur 29 Millimeter dick ist.

Mit einem Beschleunigungssensor ausgerüstet, dreht das Gerät die Displayanzeige, wenn sich Links- und Rechtshänder ablösen. Zum Mobilteil gesellt sich noch ein Dockingmodul mit Kassenschublade, mit der das Gerät zu einer vollständigen Kasseneinheit wird.
